Project Overview
In my quest to design a user experience for social good, I chose to create an app and website to help young adults register to vote. I followed user centered design principles to do UX research and design. I conducted user research, then moved on to wireframing, prototyping and user testing to get my voter information site to where it is today.

Research
"I feel that my community is under represented in politics so I'd like to get involved once I turn 18"
-participant
Insight: We learned that young some of the younger users wanted to learn more about pre-registration so they could vote in the election following their 18th birthday.

Personas & User Journey Maps
These were used to create obstacle-free paths for users, highlight new pain points, and identify improvement opportunities.

Problem Statements:
Justice is a teenager about to turn 18 who needs to pre-register to vote because they want to vote in the next election.
Anya is a new US citizen who needs to find out how to register to vote because they want to be involved in the political process of their new country and state.

Testing
I selected 5 users to participant in an unmoderated usability study of my prototype.
I iterated based on the insights before creating a mockup.
Conclusion
I'll continue to add more information per state and eventually I'd like to break it down into county wide links so voters can find the exact information they're looking for. Click on the links below to try it out.
